Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric "Sick of Sob Stories" Hovde (R-WI) now has a "dog" problem.
This is according to WKOW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin:
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde was cited by a Dane County sheriff’s deputy for allowing his daughter and a dog to be pulled behind his boat, without taking necessary safety precautions.I saw this story on BloggingBlue, a Wisconsin progressive political blog, and I just had to bring it to the attention of everyone here on DailyKos. Eric Hovde, of all of the Republicans running for U.S. Senate this cycle across the country, is the one that is the most like Republican presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Hovde is a wealthy businessman, looks down upon poor people, and now has a problem with transporting his dog, which was not named in the WKOW report.According to the citation, Hovde was pulling his daughter and a dog in a tube behind his boat June 24, without having a safety observer aboard the boat.
Authorities said Hovde told deputies he knew an observer was needed.
The citation case remains open.
Mitt Romney, of course, back in 1983, strapped his dog Seamus to a crate atop of his station wagon, who was force to ride atop Romney's station wagon for 12 hours. When Seamus suffered a bout of diarrea that streamed down the car windows, Romney was forced to pull over and hose down his station wagon. In 2007, when Mitt Romney first ran for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, which he lost to John McCain, Dogs Against Romney appeared on the internet, drawing attention to "crategate".
Now, Eric Hovde has "tubegate""dogging" him after not having a safety observer abroad his boat, which was pulling a tube in which Hovde's daughter and dog were riding on.
Dogs Against Hovde, anyone?
